My partner and I were in town from Chicago for a family wedding, and we tend to stop by record stores anywhere we go. Dowda's was a very happy surprise, and not your typical shop. My collection tends towards international and I did not expect to find so many great picks in Chattanooga-- the owner has fantastic taste. Stop in!

A record store in progress. The owner is building out his collections, but this is a new shop in St Elmo district of east Chattanooga. Small but interesting sections. He told me he has 30K records in his collection, with a large amount of country music. Prices are fair.
