Some of the phlebotomists are very good at finding the vein and some are not. There have been times when my visit lasted more than a hour due to a bad stick and I was told I ate the wrong food or didn't drink enough water, only to have another tech reposition the needle and the blood started flowing again. Recently, I had to cancel a work appointment, as I was there for over an hour. I have been donating at Octapharma for more than 2 years. I have had many good sticks. Bad sticks (and low(er) pay than what was paid) is unacceptable. Recognition of bad sticks (and low(er) pay and a willingness to change that should be a priority!
