About Union Medical Center
Union Medical Center (UMC) is a 143-bed hospital located in Union, South Carolina that has provided healthcare services to the community since 1921. Now part of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, UMC offers coordinated medical services, access to a multi-specialty physician group, and advanced technologies. Patients report positive experiences at UMC's outpatient facilities. The registration process is efficient, with an option to check-in online. The staff is described as professional, friendly, and going "above and beyond" to make visits easy and comfortable. Nurse Practitioner Susan C is very caring, relatable and makes patients feel comfortable. The staff are very nice and kind. Procedures like MRIs and CT scans are thoroughly explained, and every effort is made to keep patients at ease, even providing a warm blanket. However, reviews of UMC's emergency room are more mixed. While wait times can be reasonable, some patients have reported misdiagnoses that required further treatment elsewhere. Despite this, the nursing staff is praised for their attentiveness, especially when caring for patients admitted to the hospital. Overall, Union Medical Center appears to provide high-quality outpatient care with a focus on patient comfort and satisfaction. While the emergency room has room for improvement, the hospital's affiliation with the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System allows it to offer coordinated, advanced medical services to the community.
3/15/24 Our first visit to this facility and it was awesome! Everyone was professional and friendly! The staff went above and beyond to make the process easy and efficient! Xray, MRI, and Bone scan done in less than 4 hours! Steve, Katie, Marquita, and Aykna were Great But Pam went above and beyond to arrange scans and ease our fears and concerns! We would most certainly use this facility again if needed! The facility was clean and no infection control concerns were noted!
