Laurie was recommended to me by 2 of my friends (who don’t know each other). After I heard of their separate positive experiences, I just had to reach out! Working with Laurie was truly life-changing. From the moment we connected, she exuded warmth, professionalism, and a calming presence that made my pregnancy and birth journey so much smoother. She was always available to answer my questions, provide resources, and just listen when I needed support. During early labor, Laurie was available to talk and text to offer techniques for relaxation and pain management. Once my baby was born, she was by my side and created a serene and supportive environment, advocated for my wishes, and offered invaluable guidance and encouragement. She made sure to think of everything that had escaped my mind during those precious moments. She helped me feel empowered and confident every step of the way. What sets Laurie apart is her genuine care and compassion. She goes above and beyond, not just for the birthing process but also in helping you transition into postpartum life with grace. Laurie was so helpful on our pregnancy and birth journeys. For my first birth I was really anxious about the process, the unknowns, and being able to manage a potential natural birth process along with a hospital staff. Laurie helped me with confidence to develop a birth plan and ensure we were on the same page so that if I was not in the frame of mind to speak up we could work from the plan. She brought comfort, guidance and support to my husband as well to coach me in a way I could hear and respond to it. She offered suggestions but also gave us space to make our own path. I really appreciated her guidance when we started to go into contractions at home it made us feel more in control. We were so happy with Laurie that we had her join our birth team for our second child as we felt her steady support would help us navigate the second birth as well. I would recommend Laurie over and over again. We were so happy to have her with us on both of our experiences.

Laurie gave me tremendous peace and confidence in approaching birth as a first time mom. She was fully attentive and engaged with me in every interaction, in answering my many questions, offering her expertise which is backed by delivering all her children naturally and supporting over 120 births (she can tell you the exact amount!), providing encouragement and education in my personal concerns about labor and treatment options, and all throughout labor and delivery. My husband and I both said we truly don’t know how we would have done it without Laurie. She helped my husband find ways to step into his role as my loving partner who knows me best to help me release more oxytocin (the love hormone) to endure through the contractions. At the same time, she was constantly ready to offer support as a stable guide and coach in the journey of labor. She helped me re-center in the moment so that I would not be overcome by the powerful sensations I had never experienced before and instead, approach each new wave with readiness and preparation. She also provided extensive education in her birthing classes about the stages of labor, the body’s preparation and responses to labor, exercises and stretches I stuck to routinely, and different options for delivery and care. I could go on and on about my amazing experience having Laurie’s support in my delivery and personal birth preferences. I am so grateful for all the time and care she poured into my family and will definitely be seeking her doula services again for my future children!
