Such wonderful group exercise classes! So welcoming to out-of-town visitors.Each time I am in town, I am welcomed back to this Y by people who I think genuinely remember me every time I come.Special shout outs to Diana and Dawn for bringing the energy, passion and power to dance! They do a great job of cultivating a sense of community here.The facility is also very nice. It was such a joy to watch the little ones taking their swim lessons. The locker rooms are very clean, and, in fact, the entire facility seems rather spotless. Kudos to the staff!I will be back when I am in town!
Pros: lots of good equipment, friendly people, decent selection of classes.Cons: weekend hours are ridiculous. What can’t they open on Sunday mornings?!The place is dirty. Seriously filthy. Members do not wipe down the equipment after use. If you take a class that requires you to be on the floor, be forewarned that there are dust bunnies and globs of hair floating around. The weight racks have a layer of rusty crud on them. Does anyone clean this place?
This gym is awesome. I recently joined the YMCA with my family in hopes of restarting a new whole health regimen for everyone. So far, working out together has gotten off to a good start! We regularly use the basketball court, the cardio room and the pool to burn calories and have fun. Its also nice that we are always greeted with a 'hello' from the friendly staff and that they make it important to keep the facility clean. Great job Pawleys Tidelands YMCA!
