RiverTowne Country Club is a premier destination for golf, dining, and events in Charleston. It features the only Arnold Palmer Signature golf course in the area, known for its challenging layout and excellent conditions. The course has received multiple accolades, including recognition as “Best You Can Play” by the South Carolina Golf Panel and a 4.5-star rating from Golf Digest. Golfers appreciate the tough yet rewarding design, which requires careful ball placement and offers a good challenge for all skill levels.
In addition to the golf course, RiverTowne has a well-stocked pro shop and experienced golf instructors. The open-to-the-public restaurant serves lunch and dinner, making it a great spot for post-game meals. The venue is also popular for hosting weddings, parties, and other events, embodying the warmth of Lowcountry hospitality. Overall, RiverTowne Country Club promises a memorable experience for both golfers and event-goers alike.
Played 7/26/2025. Course was in great shape! Challenging and fun layout. The fairways were lush and the greens were fast. Heat index was 110 and we saw the beverage cart every third hole. From the pro shop to the bar to the beverage cart…ithe staff was amazing! Highly recommend this course if you are in the Charleston area.
As for the one star reviews, unseasonably cold winters can negatively impact warm weather grass. Rivertowne has recovered from this past winter.
Golf cart had a note that course was going to have scheduled aerification week of July 28. The agronomy team is taking great care of this course.

Played here mid-April. Course was in good condition in spite of an extremely dry spring. The couse has a great layout which is challenging, but yet fair and playable. Look forward playing here again.
