502 Wando Park Blvd #106, Mt Pleasant“My violin is a century-old Italian instrument I've had most of my life, so its care matters deeply to me. I returned from a trip last summer to find the glue had loosened -- the fingerboard was off and the neck warped. I was in a panic.
Chris took time during the busy back-to-school season to make sure every aspect of the damage was addressed. He also caught and corrected additional wear I hadn't noticed. He set the fingerboard and string height so that doublestops felt more natural and positioned the soundpost and alignment so that the upper tones gained clarity and range -- with no cost to the warmth.
When I first played it again, it honestly brought tears to my eyes.
I have been to Southern String Supply for a variety of music needs and have always appreciated how they make time to find out exactly what our issues are and are happy to explain and give context for the options they offer.“

2612 Larch Ln Ste 111, Mt Pleasant“My twelve years at CAM have been transformational—not only musically but also holistically. Studying under Dr. Irina Pevzner’s tutelage has been nothing short of incredible. Her care—and all of the faculty’s commitment to teaching—is evident and tangible; she takes the time to understand each student’s context and provide nuanced, personalized feedback on technique and musicality. When I confronted musical challenges or was unsure of difficult repertoire, I remember her positive encouragement and that she never lost sight of my potential, pushing me to reach new goals while ensuring I developed a deep appreciation for the art of music. She teaches music how it should be—a deeper form of personal, artistic expression, not simply about technique or the right notes. Her support extended beyond our lessons, always being available for guidance and advice; she truly is a mentor to her students who is invested in their success. Her ability to connect with students is remarkable—she strives to meet students where they are. Her dedication speaks to the faculty as a whole, a highly talented group of top-tier musicians who have extensive expertise in a breadth of instruments. Each instructor wholeheartedly brings a genuine passion to their craft.
CAM encourages and empowers students to become a better musician and a better individual.
Through the numerous and recurring concert opportunities that CAM makes readily accessible, the challenges that come with preparing for a performance or a competition have taught me invaluable life skills of learning, perseverance, and drive. The learning of stage presence instilled confidence in me, while recitals taught me how to work under pressure—all translatable to the outside world. CAM gives students a platform to shine, no matter where they are on their musical journey.
What I find so special about CAM is that they teach music in a way that helps students cultivate a sense of self. At CAM, it truly isn’t just about music but about thoughtfully helping students embrace a cycle of learning and art. Students are empowered to become well--rounded artists and well-rounded human beings. I give my highest praise and recommendation to CAM—my time here has been the most insightful and important part of my K-12 life. I’m tremendously grateful for my experience here in such a nurturing environment and community!“

“Mt. Pleasant Music is the perfect music store. It’s easy to get to and park. But you know the old saying, “it’s not what’s on the outside that counts…it’s what’s on the inside?” On the inside is Mike, the owner of Mt. Pleasant Music. This man is a God send/gift from the universe! I went in with my 9-year-old granddaughter’s big guitar. She was missing a string and the plastic piece to attach it. I was sure that I would have to leave the guitar and come back in a week and pay $40 for a whole new set of strings at the very least. That’s what happened when I went to another music store in Mt. Pleasant, that had tricky parking and a long wait time. But with Mike, what I got was a kind, smiling, positive spirit, who fixed up that guitar with a new string and plastic part in less than a minute! He didn’t charge me anything! I was totally stunned and overjoyed! My experience with Mike and Mount Pleasant Music was a joy, a gift and a confirmation that there are still some really nice people in the world. Go to Mt. Pleasant Music. You will be glad you did!“
