My son hung himself in prison 2 months ago . He was only 29 yrs old . They were gonna cremate his body if I didn't get someone to go get him within 1 day . I called and explained things to the lady here and asked could they plz help me that I had no money and she had someone go over 200 miles to Bishopville to get his body . I could not find nobody to do it without making me pay upfront . She told me it was gonna be ok and she would take care of it . Not only did they go get him for me , they told me even if I decided to go with a different mortuary that she wouldn't charge me . I was looking for a prepaid cremation. Jennifer was very helpful a got me exactly what I wanted. Didn't try to up sell me on anything. Great experience. Explained everything I need to know. I would highly recommend them.
I can’t give enough praise for Jeffrey Lister at Mackey Funeral Home. Jeff stayed in close contact with my brother and I as we struggled to figure out the process of having our dad moved from the coroner’s office to Mackey and then planning his memorial service. Jeffrey was professional, kind, patient, easy to reach by phone, and extremely helpful and caring. We always felt he had our best needs and our father’s wishes front and center.
The service was beautifully done and we used the caterer that he proposed and the food and service was incredible.
