About Cherokee Medical Center
Cherokee Medical Center is a 125-bed acute care facility in Gaffney, South Carolina. Everyone at Cherokee was very caring and responsive. The nursing staff and support staff were incredibly attentive. Best patient care around. The nursing staff is so kind and caring. The Food Service was absolutely amazing, better than most restaurants. The staff was very friendly and the doctor ran an assortment of tests. The nurse called in a prescription close to the motel. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The lab had the best people to meet. From the time you walk in, you are met with the sweetest lady in the outpatient desk area. The lab staff is always bright and funny. The radiology department ladies are also nice. The care and compassion was excellent. The nurses and support staff are very friendly and willing to help in any way needed. Cherokee Medical Center has good healthcare workers who care about patients.
I took my daughter there last night with severe kidney pain. She has had 2 kidney surgeries since January 17th. She got her stint out yesterday in Greenville by the dr who performed the surgery. She started hurting on the way home (we live in blacksburg) and just kept getting worse so she called the dr. He told her that if she couldn't make it to St. Francis to go to the nearest er. They treated my daughter like a drug addict!!! They talked down to her. Very condescending. we were there for over 1 1/2 hours with nothing for pain! When I asked them to remove the IV (nothing going into the iv) so we could go to Greenville, a man jumped up and said fine! Very hateful!!! When we got to St. Francis they gave her pain meds ( 2 different kinds because the 1st one only took the edge off.) Then did a CT Scan. Turned out she had a bad infection that made the kidney and urter swell and blocked the kidney from draining!!! But Cherokee Medical Center wouldn't give her anything for pain OR find out why she was hurting so bad!!!! Do NOT bring anyone you care about to this hospital! It's NOT a hospital! It's a place to go to die!!! Believe me when I tell you, if my daughter's kidney is damaged because of your LACK OF TREATMENT, you will definitely be hearing from us!!!
