“I want to start off by saying that I am so thankful for how much Palmetto Summerville has helped me heal and grow. There were many factors that made a difference from Palmetto Summerville to other hospitals I’ve been to. One major thing was the staff, from the moment I walked onto the unit the first time I was greeted with love and support. I was placed in Palmetto Summerville 2 times over the course of 2025 and both times were tremendously helpful. I loved the structure and the groups as well as my therapist Ms Divine. She was so helpful and she always knew how to talk me through sessions where all I would do was cry. Ms Emily was one person out of many that made the biggest impact on me. When I came to Palmetto Summerville I was not eating and having the toughest time with food and Ms Emily helped shape a different perspective on food and why I needed it. I have never been treated with that much respect before and she became like a mother figure to me. Anytime I needed her she would be there and I will always remember her and what she has done for me. Ms Shaniqua has had a very long lasting impact on me and I will forever be grateful for the tough love she showed me. She helped me realize that just because you are tough on someone doesn’t mean you don’t care for them. Mr Levi has a special place in my heart because he always listened to me and never judged anything I said. When I would go to him for advice he would give me advice from a fathers perspective and thats something I am so grateful for. Ms Tea always showed me that I needed to focus on myself and put myself before everyone else. She also showed me it was okay to have a caring heart and want to help everyone but I would never get better if I didn’t care for myself. Ms Harriet was always so caring for me and she always joked around with me, she made me feel a little bit more human with every conversation we had. Ms Khadijah, Ms Lavanda, Ms T, Ms Shayna, Ms Tara, Ms Tyra and Mr Joey all showed me that it was okay to be there and that being there didn’t make me crazy or broken it just meant I was willing to help myself to get better. Ms Isabel always treated me like I was her own and she always gave the best advice. She made me feel a bit more normal with every passing day and I will forever be grateful for her and everything she thought me. I am so thankful for all of the staff but these are kust some of my favorites. Palmetto Summerville gave me somewhere where I could be myself and heal in peace. They pushed me to become a better version of myself. If you are considering Palmetto Summerville for yourself or a loved one I would say it is the best facility I have ever been to and I think it really pushed people to get better and to heal in a safe and loving environment.“
