Physical therapy in Aiken

“I had an accident three years ago and my knees are developing arthritis. At times, my knee will lock up and cause me some excruciating pain. I have to keep my cane around to help support me when that pain strikes me, because I have difficulty walking. Dr. Peterson recommended that I take some more physical therapy.
Mary, my physical therapist made her recommendations on a therapy regimen to help alleviate some of the tension from my right knee. Her and Lindsey are working together to improve and reduce my pain levels. I did not know that I was favoring my left side when I walk. That was causing me to limp. I have had three sessions with them thus far and I'm very pleased with my progress.

“I am so impressed with the physical therapy that I received at Hitcock Healthcare. The staff working in the office were always friendly and accommodating. Sessions were always on time. Barbara was my physical therapist and she was the best therapist I have ever encountered. I've have had injuries in the past that required therapy, so I have worked with many therapists, but none offered the help that I received with Barbara. My needs were rather broad because I was dealing with osteoporosis. She offered clear explanations about living with osteoporosis and offered information for me to take home. Barbara taught me so many exercises to strengthen my body and instructions on what exercises to modify to keep my body strong. She worked with me on what exercises I could do in my water aerobics class and I was able to integrate my new exercises with the ones I already worked on from former injuries. This kept me from duplicating the exercises that served the same purpose and cut the time I needed to get all my therapy needs addressed. I received instructions on how to do everyday tasks, so I wasn't putting a strain on the areas of my body affected by osteoporosis. Aside from all the physical benefits, Barbara has the gift of instilling faith and hope that I could get better and that encouraged me to do my best and I continue to improve.“
