This hospital may not always have the best reputation, but I can honestly say that my experience in the labor and delivery unit was incredible, and I feel strongly that the staff there deserve recognition. Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most emotional and vulnerable experiences and EVERY nurse and doctor in L&D made me feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. They never made me feel like “just another patient.” Corey and Sarah-Lynn made me feel truly listened to and supported when things felt overwhelming. They checked on me constantly and always treated me with compassion and patience. Natalie took care of me many nights before and after my C-section. Her consistency was extremely comforting. Katrina was exceptional and truly my guide the morning of my C-section. She made sure I felt comfortable, safe, and fully understood what to expect before going into the OR. After my son was delivered, she cared for him directly and supported my husband through those first emotional moments afterward. She is absolutely top-notch, and I will never forget the comfort she brought to our family that day. Dr. Earle also deserves recognition for always respecting my choices and never pressuring me in my decisions. I felt trusted, heard, and empowered in my care. Somehow Dr. Chin and Dr. Morton brought exactly the kind of energy you want in an OR room — calm, reassuring, and comforting. They made the experience feel surprisingly relaxed, like we were all just casually hanging out, which helped ease so much of my anxiety during such a major moment. And saving the best for last — my midwife, Kiersten, who is honestly the whole reason I wanted to have my baby at Landmark in the first place. People would often ask me, “You live an hour away, why would you have your baby there?” and my first answer was always: her. She makes people feel so comfortable and safe that they are willing to drive an hour just to receive her care. She is truly exceptional. Her down-to-earth personality makes you feel like you’re talking to your best friend instead of a provider, while still feeling completely confident and cared for in her hands. She has such a calming presence and made such a huge impact on my entire pregnancy and birth experience. She will be greatly missed by her patients. Even the little details made a huge difference during our stay. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, which helped us feel more at ease while recovering and adjusting to life with a newborn. My husband even had a pull-out “bed” to sleep on instead of an uncomfortable chair, and the staff made sure he was taken care of too by providing him with a guest meal. Those thoughtful touches meant more to us than they probably realize. I know people are often quick to share negative experiences, but positive ones deserve to be recognized too. The labor and delivery team gave me a birth experience I will always be grateful for, and I truly hope they know how much their hard work and compassion matter to families like mine. Thank you all for helping bring my baby safely into the world with such incredible care and kindness.
