About Veterans' Memorial Cemetery
Veterans' Memorial Cemetery is a beautiful and well-kept resting place for loved ones, including soldiers and their spouses. It is a stately and respectful memorial grounds that is very well taken care of. The cemetery is huge and can be confusing, so a map is recommended. A notable feature is the number of side woodland trails on its edges, maintained by master gardeners. These unblazed but navigable trails wind through the bordering woods and eventually lead back to the paved cemetery pathways, offering a nice addition for visitors. It is a peaceful and beautiful place for remembrance.
My dad and mom are both at rest, at Veterans' Memoral Burrial Grounds. The land is well kept with great respect for our loved ones, and in some cases laid to rest with their spouces.Solders should have a well kept resting place; and The Veterens' Memorial Burrial land provides this for our solders. Thank you Jesus for watching over our loved ones.Thank you,Doris M.T. JoyalDaughter of,Louis J. Joyal1976&Theresa M. Joyal 1986God Bless all who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Much has already been written regarding the Veterans Cemetery proper - and it certainly is 5-star! - but I'll concentrate on a lesser known feature which is the number of side trails that can be found on the edges of the cemetery. These were made (and I presume maintained) by the University of RI master gardeners' classes and you'll find occasional signs (marked "Woodland Trail") along the paved pathways. They are well worth a wander into the bordering woods! They are not blazed but they are easily navigable and whichever trail you pick, it will eventually lead you back to the paved areas of the cemetary proper. You can follow these "off-road" trails as long as you like. Great for kids too! A nice addition to this stately and beautiful memorial cemetery.
This is a beautiful cemetery where many of my loved ones rest in peace. The only complaint I have is that it appears as if whoever has been cutting the grass has been running over the flat head stones with the lawnmower causing damage to the headstones in the form of dark streaks and scratches across the face and edges. I am currently looking to tell someone about this, however, I have yet to find the correct contact information. If anyone should read this and knows the correct contact information please contact me and let me know. Thank you.
