The instructors in West Chester are wonderful! They really take their time with you and make sure everyone in class is learning well. The people/other students that are part of the Swing Kat community are also great, everyone is friendly, respectful, and I've made some great friends in the classes. I live in Downingtown and it is well-worth the drive. I've been to other ballroom classes where everyone else is a couple or older, but there is a great mix and I didn't feel awkward being a single lady in class.

Since attending the hangar dance at WWII weekend in Reading, I’ve been interested in learning swing. I’ve always been fascinated with the era, and enjoyed dancing with my grandmother as a little girl. I was looking around to take lessons, so my boyfriend and I could actually learn what we’re doing, and came across Swing Kat. We take our classes at the West Chester location and our instructors, Vinny and Jeanette, are wonderful! They offer so much support to their students, and are always willing to slow down and break things down when moves get challenging. Vinnie is a fantastic teacher - fun and excellent instruction. My wife and I are currently taking our second class there, and have signed up for our third one! Swing dancing is a led dance - there is a little bit of a learning curve. But people are super accepting of beginners and if you want to get out and do something fun with a wide ranging group of people I recommend trying SwingKat lessons and dances.
