Beautiful facility, very prompt to set an appointment to get a piece of steel taken out of my eye. Friendly staff gave me paperwork to fill out, then proceeded to tell me that w/o insurance I was going to have to pay $250.00 for the visit. I was prompt in handing back the clipboard, MINUS my ppwk, and explain to her that I was not "feeling it" by participating in making a Dr. unnecessarily wealthy at my expense. Free enterprise I agree with, so it is with my due diligence that I found another Dr. to do it for $71.00. It took him only 2 minutes to get it out, that's an hourly rate of $2130.00, comfortable... At Retinacare the hourly rate works out to be $7500.00!!!! Pure greed... So much for healthcare reform! I guess this Dr (Retinacare) is NOT one of the Americans struggling to put food on the table. It pays to shop around...
