The Right Place For Finding The Right Pros Near You!
As a dog owner, if you don’t relish being swamped by jealousy, don’t bring your pet to Roam Camp. Learn from my experience. First, whenever I call to make an appointment, they are always ready to accommodate me. That’s suspicious, and should have warned me something was up. Second, when we arrive, someone who runs Roam Camp--Seth (the owner), Kristen (the AKC-certified manager), Jennifer (a certified nurse for humans, who loves dogs) or Dave (another AKC-certified guy, married to Kristen)--greets me and Bo, and Bo starts waving her tail in a furious, rightward, helicopter-like motion that everyone knows means joy. What’s going on here? Am I torturing her at home with twice daily, hour-long walks in the woods, from which she needs liberating? Then they torture me with videos of Bo swimming in their protected pond, or romping with other dogs around their fenced-in fifty acres of meadow and woods, or burrowing in the snow. I can’t get Bo near water, except to drink, and as for romping with other dogs or burrowing in snow, with me she’s too aloof and ladylike for that kind of behavior. Am I repressing her? The final blow--once I arrived to find her in the living room of the house the dogs all have the run of (there are no cages, like in a kennel), nestled in some young girl’s lap (maybe Kyla, Kristen’s daughter, also a trained dog handler) having her belly rubbed, like she’s at home. What the hell!! Of course, Bo always acts like she’s happy to see me, but I suspect that’s just cunning pretense to ensure I bring her back to Roam Camp. Be warned. Something’s up. I’m not sure what it is.
