my friend and I did a 6 week class and it was an amazing time. it was her first time throwing, and the way they explain the process to new potters and demonstrate is really helpful and informative. i had previous experience, but it was so nice that they would keep an eye on me without being overbearing and offer suggestions or tips along the way. i learned so much from them. they are also very kind people, so i felt no intimidation in asking for help, which they are always more than happy to do so. they are all amazing instructors. studio 83 feels like such a safe space for creativity and is amazing for all skill levels. i would recommend it to anyone, and i will definitely be back ❤️
Recently took a class there and LOVED it! We had so much fun and the pieces came out way better than expected! I would highly recommend taking a Saturday afternoon class. The 2 hours flies by!
I cannot say enough good things about Studio 83. I looked at classes from Pittsburgh to Cleveland and Studio 83 had the best rates. But what I appreciated most was Walt's teaching style: he is exactly as hands on as you want him to be, always observing and offering help if you want it. He is a genuine person and cares about his student's success. One session I requested a demo on a difficult piece. When I was attempting it for the third time, it started to collapse but I managed to save it. He had been watching from across the room and replied, "nice save, I was nervous for you." It is that kind of attention and accolade that students can expect. If you have ever considered pottery, call and sign up for six weeks of classes. You won't be disappointed.
