Probably better than 2 stars if your loved one doesn’t pass away over the holiday season. My mom started hospice a few days before Christmas and passed New Year’s Eve. No one came out over the long holiday weekends. The day after Christmas I called to have a nurse come out for new symptoms and it took 7 hours for someone to arrive. The last time a nurse came out she said my mom should start to feel better and be able to eat after a new medication. She passed a few days later. The day she passed I called the hotline because my mom was increasingly uncomfortable. My grandfather was placed on hospice and I was hesitant because of my past experiences with crossroads but they handled my grandfather with great care. He did NOT want a male caregiver so when they called before the first visit and told me it was a man I was scared I promised my grandfather he only had to try him once and if he didn't like him we could change but when I tell you his caregiver Woo Jeong is the most compassionate, respectful and caring person and my grandfather (although skeptical at first) absolutely loved that man. My husband passed away last Saturday. He was under the hospice care at home for almost three weeks. I don’t know if I would be able to do it without the help and support of the nurses, social worker, chaplain, aids, supervisors, pharmacist, delivery equipment people etc. Not only they provided the best care for my husband but they gave me and my family such support that we will be grateful for them forever. We were terrified but they give us confidence and comfort. They were available 24/7and came ASAP days and nights and weekends with no delay. They are true angels. My husband passed at home peacefully surrounded by family and Crossroads are for most part made it possible.
