Born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933, in Bryn Mawr, PA, Jayne Mansfield was an American actress best known for her bombshell curves and film roles during the 1950s and '60s. On June 29, 1967, while traveling between nightclub engagements, she was killed on Highway 90 between Slidell and New Orleans, Louisiana, when her car struck the back end of a tractor-trailer. Since we were in the area visiting family, my partner and I came to her final resting place, located at Fairview Cemetery in Pen Argyl. Her heart-shaped tombstone is one of the most notable features of the cemetery. Thank you to fellow Yelper Edward T for the discovery.
A beautiful community cemetery that has the interment (grave) of Hollywood actress Jane Mansfield. She was from this town. Once you enter the cemetery just keep your eyes peeled for a big white shaped heart. Jayne's headstone is a big heart.
This is a quiet and peaceful cemetery in rural Pennsylvania, about two hours north of Philadelphia and two hours west of New York City. There are a few benches and a number of shade trees. The roads are smoothly paved and easy for walking or a respectful drive. Fairview Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania. It is a historical site and a tourist attraction because of Hollywood actress Jayne Mansfield's grave. Her heart-shaped tombstone is one of the most notable features of the cemetery. Fans of deceased star visit the grave regularly with flowers. It's not difficult to find the site.
