The Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center (PMWC) is a dedicated place for the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wild animals. The center's staff are knowledgeable, passionate, and go above and beyond to help animals, including staying late outside of operating hours. The location may be small, and it can be a bit challenging to turn around and leave, but this is a minor inconvenience. The center is a blessing to all wildlife, and the staff is fantastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. They don't pressure visitors to donate, but many choose to do so to support the center's important work. The center is still old-school in its communication, relying on phone calls and paper forms, but this doesn't detract from the excellent service they provide.
Prompt response and very helpful information for people who need help with the wildlife that need help. Did I say help too much? This organization is probably the closest Rescue facility in the area west of Philadelphia, South of Pottstown, East of Exton. Very helpful staff on call to assist you when you need to assist Wildlife.
I have saved over 100 animals in my life. Small birds, crows, doves, snakes, squirrels, racoon, opossum, Hawks etc. For 25 years have been giving these animals to Michelle Wellard at the nature center and she is fabulous and the nature center is better for having her careing nature.
Above and beyond service. I found a baby sparrow that fell out of its nest. I tried to call wildlife rescue services around me, but no one would take it because it was a baby house sparrow. Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center called me back very quickly. They assured me they would rehabilitate the baby bird, put my mind at ease, and were very prompt, efficient and courteous. This was my very first time finding a baby bird so I was not sure what to do. I would very highly recommend this establishment to anyone who comes across an injured or abandoned wildlife.
