Iron Forge was in great shape outside of the bunkers. Open layout which was player friendly but challenging. Can't wait to play founders. All of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Penn National Golf Club & Inn offers an exceptional golfing experience with its stunning Founders course, which is tree-lined and tight, making it possibly the easiest course to walk with a pushcart. Played both courses at Penn National back in May '26; what a treat!
We started on Iron Forge with the very first tee time on a Sunday morning. The course itself was fairly wide open, but definitely had some screwy breaks on the greens! They were fair & forgiving. Very scenic views with elevation changes. The only complaint we had about the course was the numerous old cups that didn't seem to grow in. We counted 12 old cups within a 10 foot radius. They didn't affect our putting, but asthetically, it was quite an eyesore.

This review is specific to the golf course.
Weekend rate of $110 for 18 holes riding. I took into consideration that it was a little soggy and fog dampened the views.
Overall, this is a nice course, layout is cool, holes are hard but gettable with good shots.
The greens were really good and got better as the day dried them a little. Carts were great with on-board GPS.
The downsides, no half way house on Iron Forge, or at least it was not open. For $110, I expected a bit more from the conditions. Some fairways had clover and crabgrass. Some of the bunkers had very little sand and they were rock hard.
The range was very small, only like 10-15 spots.
