“In 2018 I had ET&W do several projects for us. They did the work on time, on budget, and it was quality workmanship - 'like it should be done', says this engineer. Time passes. In 2023 and beyond we noted that only HALF of the Techo Bloc pavers were losing all color and exposing the underlying concrete construction of the block. I sent pictures of the obvious change in part of the pavers (different manufacturing lot i'm sure) and ET&W arranged for a Techo Bloc representative to come and inspect the situation. He was mystified after digging up a few pavers and examining them. That paver style/color was now obsolete. I feared the worst - no resolution. This wasn't ET&W's problem or responsibility; it was Techo Bloc's. The next thing I know ET&W is sending me pavers to evaluate for replacement. that's a great first step, though I wasn't sure I wanted to pay ET&W for repairs....only the pavers are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, not the paver removal/installation efforts, but maybe I'd proceed after I knew the pricing. Next thing I know ET&W is scheduling a full replacement of my walkway at the manufacturer's expense, bargaining on my behalf, which was done timely and beautifully. Frankly, I LOVE the new walk even more than the original, and during the removal/reinstallation, the crew updates the retaining edging to concreted from formed trim. Not clear how I could be more pleased with the way I was treated on the first walk and the most-excellent replacement. Other walks they did in 2018 or earlier, and a very large retaining wall, continue to perform well Yes, ET&W is not the cheapest answer. There might be a reason.“
