Very traditional school, teaching a traditional art not some made up mumbo-jumbo. My daughter attends here and has grown leaps and bounds. All the instructors are highly professional and friendly. The dojo is very family oriented.
I've been training at West End Dojo for about 7 years. Most of those years were when I was a child. I was welcomed back by my childhood role models, and the entire dojo family, with open arms two years ago when I decided to join with my 6-year-old son. West End Dojo teaches Koei Kan Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art. Besides the obvious health benefits of living an active lifestyle, you will learn many other traditional aspects of the art. If you are looking to learn karate in a more traditional way, this is your place! This dojo is ran by some pretty awesome sensei's that love to teach their style. Koei Kan has some great roots linked to Japan and strives to maintain the traditional aspect. They offer Kids classes ( which is always a riot to watch them fight ). Adult classes are personal and sweat inducing :) Other schools will give you the belt promotions you desire, but when it comes down to it, a belt doesn't prove you are better then another person.
