Mama Needs Massage

I am a birth doula, and I took Marissa's "Massage Skills for Birth Workers" course. It was so informative and I appreciated her expertise so much. The class was incredibly hands on, and each student got a chance to both receive and give massage to really understand the techniques presented. She gave brief but comprehensive background on muscle groups, consent and communication, and even had us practice our presence during massage so that our clients can really feel us focusing on them. I would take the class again just to practice the skills, and I 100% recommend it to anyone who works with birthing people. It will absolutely make a difference to the work that I do.

I was so glad to find a massage therapist that was experienced in prenatal massage. Marissa took her time and made me feel very comfortable. The massage room was very soothing and relaxing and she used just the perfect amount of pressure. I felt great after my massage.

Melissa is amazing! I went to her for prenatal and postpartum massages. She really listens to your needs and concerns, which I think is a large therapeutic part of massage, feeling heard. I love that she caters specifically to pregnant women and mothers, as our needs are slightly different. There's an increased sense of empathy here as you feel like you don't have to explain yourself or your needs as much. She is very kind and I recommend her services if you are pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding, etc.
