After being in contacts for 39 years I felt it was time to take the plunge and try LASIK out and what a game changer it has been. 4 days out and I can’t believe the things I’ve been missing out on. Thank you LasikPlus for giving me my sight back!!!

I am almost 45 years old and I have used glasses or contacts since the 3rd grade. Over the years watching my vision get worse every year. While I don’t remember exactly how old I was but I remember see on my feet without glass, then my knees and most recently my hand held only 4 inches from my face. And the last few years my eye doctor has corrected my contact for mono vision so I could see far and mid or near. I adjusted but it took time and I was never completely satisfied with my vision. I craft and threading a needle was almost impossible. As my frustration grew my thoughts of making lasik a priority grew. My mom had it 3-4 years ago and she is so happy. I wanted that freedom and so in November 2024 I started asking questions. From the online consultation to the in office consultation and finally the surgery the staff at Lisik Plus were knowledgeable and friendly. I had my lasik surgery on December 31, 2024. My biggest fear was not being able to hold my eyes still while they did the procedure. And that it wouldn’t work that I may not see after. The doctor and his nurse talked me through every step of the procedure in the calmest way possible. While my anxiety was still there they helped keep me breathing. Less than 15 minutes later I walked out of the operating room with blurry but better vision than I started with. On the more than hour drive home I kept my eyes closed most of the way. But with every blink I could see better and better. It was hard to tell with my eyes watering from the procedure but I had tears of joy coming as well knowing that it worked and that I was going to see. I spent most of the next two days napping and doing eye drops as I still do now 11 days post op. I return to work on January 2. While my eyes didn’t like my computer at all everything was good. Over the last week it keeps improving. The trip back to lasik plus with my dad for the follow up last Friday was emotional. Looking out the front window of his pickup and reading road signs without glasses or contacts for. I tried to express my feelings but just sat there and cried. He told me he understood as mom did the same thing after her surgery. I was correct to 20/20for far away and 20/25 for near as of 4 days post op. It took me almost a week to put into words my feeling for a Facebook post to tell my family and friends what I did. This is not something to take lightly but know that you will likely find your new freedom to be one of the best choices in your life. I went with mono vision so my left eye sees far and my Right sees near. My brain and eyes are still learning but I am truly happy with my decision to have this done and to have the team at lasik plus on my side.
