The entire tour is well-prepared and educational, with the guides being friendly and patient in answering questions. Visitors can contribute to the safety and well-being of the rescued wolves by visiting and supporting this organization. The location is beautiful, and visitors often get a sneak peek into the wolves' enclosures, where the wolves pick out scents from inside. The tours involve sitting in an outdoor classroom, where guides share interesting information, pictures, and stories before exploring the sanctuary. Many visitors find the experience very cool, informative, and worth the price, especially knowing that volunteers guide the tours to support the wolves. Overall, it is a highlight for those interested in wolves, and many express their desire to visit again.
We took the tour today. It was very informative and interesting. They currently have 7 wolves at the sanctuary. The wolves are never made to do anything and they get a chance to change enclosures every couple of months. Some enclosures are over 2 acres. Everyone should have a change to experience this! Nicola was our guide and she was amazing!
We had a terrific time today at the sanctuary. It is clear that the volunteers care a great deal about the wolves. As we walked to meet each of the wolves it was obvious that they love their caretakers. Our favorite one was Sakarri. She was very friendly, followed us along the fence as we walked by and loved being rubbed. We were told that the girls love having their bellies rubbed but the volunteers arms aren't quite long enough to do that. She smiled the whole time we were by her enclosure. She is one of the oldest wolves at the sanctuary. We were told that Archidamus a Grey Wolf was rescued after being tethered to a pole his whole life. Kent and the other man on our tour were told that Archidamus has issues with men, likely because of his hitsory. We saw Archidamus lying on the porch totally chill. The volunteer was quite surprised by his behavior telling Arc she was impressed by his behavior. I said it must be because the men have a good aura. White Wolf Sanctuary is a must visit if you are in the area of Waldport, Oregon. They have tours every day of the week except Fridays. #whitewolfsanctuary #wolvesrock
