About Kiyokawa Family Orchards
Kiyokawa Family Orchards is a highly recommended apple farm, known for its stunning Mount Hood views. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of delicious apples and pears, with the option to pick their own or purchase from the fruit stand. The farm also features cider, canned goods, and baked treats. With clean bathrooms and a peaceful atmosphere, it provides a perfect setting for a memorable apple-picking experience. The profusion of apples is mind boggling. Walking through the orchard can make your world seem brighter. They have a wonderful variety, including the famous Mountain Rose and many older varieties of apples and cherries. The ciders they sell are excellent. They clearly know how to grow and package pears, apples and cherries. They willingly refund if you are unsatisfied with a purchase.
I make it a point every year to make several trips up to Kiyokawa's Orchards to get the absolute best apples I've ever tasted. It is a very well run very well organized Orchard with hundreds of different varieties of fruit. They always have small containers of cut fruit so you can taste each apple before you buy it. And they have a wonderful Apple tasting event every year so you can actually go up and taste the apples and Randy, the owner, is often there if you have any questions about his fruit. Drove 2 hours to get to the fruit stand and Rebecca greeted us warmly even though it was 10 minutes to closing.
She was well versed in flavor profiles and let us try a sample of some of the smaller fruit varieties like crab apples.
The pricing was under $2/pound for almost everything they grew and they had apple varieties we never thought we'd be able to get here like Arkansas Black.
We left with apples, pears, a few kiwi berry, and seasonal jams.
The car smelled of apples the whole drive home.
Can't wait to visit again.
This place is easily a 5-star review. Varieties of apples and pears to taste and pick from. Enjoyable with family and friends, and the pizza stand was also good. Overall, we had a great time with view of mount hood behind. We got tour from the owner with a brief history on a hayride was truly informative. Thanks to the owner and amazing staffs.
