About Jasper Mountain
Jasper Mountain is a treatment facility that provides care for children with emotional and behavioral challenges. The facility is situated in a beautiful mountainous area, surrounded by trees and scenic views. The children's building is designed to resemble a castle, and the facility offers activities such as horse care and riding. The staff at Jasper Mountain are friendly and caring, and some reviewers have reported positive experiences with their child's therapist. However, some parents have expressed concerns about the facility's response to concerns about medication and allegations of inappropriate behavior. Despite these issues, some children have made significant progress during their stay at Jasper Mountain, including improvements in behavior and emotional well-being. The facility provides a safe and supportive environment for children to grow and develop, and some former residents have maintained positive relationships with staff and peers after leaving the facility.
My determination of the "Star Rating" for Jasper Mountain is kind of torn. I have good experiences with Jasper Mountain, as well as I have negative experiences...which ultimately was a major contributing factor in the removal of my child from this program by myself, before his treatment was completed.
My son was in the program for 7 months, and being there was hard on everyone involved, but most importantly it was very rough on him. It would be rough on any child with RAD, with their parents living in another state/time zone.
While my son was in that program, there were times that I would express my concerns about medication decreases and him being punished...read full review

I have a ten year old girl who is at Jasper Mountain. I met her when I was babysitting for foster kids. We have kept in touch for 4 years.I am very impressed with this facility. The staff is friendly and shows how much they care for the kids.I will call this little girl Sue. She has had a very abusive past and been in many foster homes. Sue has a hard time when feeling upset and loses control.Since she has been at Jasper Mountain (about 6 months) I have seen a big change in Sue's behavior. She was able to talk to me about her mother's death due to drug overdose. She seems to feel better about herself and has a positive attitude. She has therapy twice a week. I met her Therapist and was impressed by the way she interacted with Sue.Also the facility is in a beautiful spot in the mountains surrounded by trees and views of mountains in the distance. The children's building where they sleep looks like a big castle on the outside. They have 4 horses. The kids learn to brush the horses and eventually ride them.I would highly suggest this facility.
