Loved my visit to Columbia Gorge Hotel. My room was cozy and the bed was comfortable w plenty of extra pillows stashed in the closet! The view from my room was lovely. Staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful even in the snow, and it was easy to get into town for dining and a little shopping in Hood River.
The hotel was easy to find and easy to access. Right off of the main road out that way. Since the elevator is over 100 years old, you need staff assistance. We just walked up to the 2nd floor. The lines on the stairs can make your eyes bug out and cause vertigo. Use the handrail! Our room was tucked in the corner on the far left of the hotel. We had a garden view and could see a small part of the stream. It was our only choice during the booking. The room was large, decorated nicely, and clean. I would even consider it 'huge' compared to a lot of other hotel rooms. Even the bathroom was huge. Everything looked in good shape but kept with the old-timey feel. We walked...read full review
Upon arrival my fiance was stuck inside the bathroom and the door would not unlock and i had to force it to get him out, after it was "fixed" we had to make sure to ONLY turn it clockwise to open it and close it. Our heater stopped working in the middle of the night. The life band was playing right under our room (which we didnt find out until a couple days before arrival and they only told us that there will be a life band, not that we will be hearing it if we want to or not) and it was as loud as if we were right in front of them. We were told there were fireworks, but they never happened, it was river view, but a large (but stunning) tree blocked the entire view....read full review
