My bathroom fan ran for twenty-four hours straight. My handyman checked the wires and they looked good. The switch was off but it kept running. This went on periodically for about five days. The handyman finally disconnected the ceiling fan. I called Helco Electric. Mr. Lee Heller came out that afternoon. After checking the wires and the fan he figured it out. When this house was built years ago electricians use to install a humidity thermostat. This was in the hallway not the bathroom. Lee found it and turned it off. That was causing the fan to activate. Those five days were humid, we even had thunder storms. This issue was unknown to my handyman. I never paid attention to that thermostat which is located directly next to my heating and air condition thermostat. Lee was professional and knew what to do to resolve the ongoing problem.
