“Jen is amazing. I wish I had all the photos of what she's done to and for my hair over the years, all gathered up for this review but I'll have to post them later if I can. My profile photo is her work --- perfection. She has been doing my hair from lifting and toning, putting cool colors in, full on haircuts & layering, trims for up-keep, and recently - on a whim: bangs! They look fantastic! Shes gentle, super sweet and always makes sure to ask specifics on what you want, and check-in with you to make sure you get exactly what you want. My hair is always in better condition after I'm done seeing her. She really knows what she's doing. I always suggest bringing in a photo (if you can) to any hair stylist to make sure you're getting what you want, especially if you don't know what the haircut or style is called - just something to do or you may miscommunicate what you're after. I've brought in photos only a few times, but the few times I have, she's only needed a quick look, and immediately know what I'm after, executes it well! I've gotten services from her at several salons, and will continue to follow her if she ever goes anywhere else! I'm glad she's at a salon with Aveda - plant based products now ☺️. Thank you Jen!!“

“This was a great experience. I came in with an old photo and little idea as to what I wanted. Mario helped talk me through what my wants and needs are and I came out with a fresh, clean cut that feels and looks great more than 2 weeks later. I especially appreciated being asked if I wanted it to look "more feminine, masculine, or somewhere in between". When we came to a spot that I felt uncertain about, Mario worked it up in one way so we could see how I liked it, then had no qualms about shaving it off when it didn't feel right. He talked me through how to keep up the look and other ideas to play around with it as it grows out. He was not pushy about selling me products but was able to recommend a good one when I requested it. I was able to make the appointment online and fill in my preferred pronouns. And as a bonus! The salon is filled with beautiful vines and happy plants and propagation stations and when I inquired I discovered they sell the plant clippings too! I got clippers and a clipping for a great price and am sure to be back!“

She always does such a great job on my color (I have super blond highlights which can be difficult with how dark my natural hair is) and gives a great cut as well! Mersadez is very personable and easy to talk to....she listens to what you want and tells you the truth on if it will work for you or not...honesty is the best policy in my opinion. “I had a great experience with Sami, the owner's apprentice, whom I booked for a last-minute manicure. Sami did a fantastic job and was very down-to-earth and pleasant to chat with. They were very detail-oriented and checked in with me the day before to discuss what I wanted.While the owner is extremely talented and I love their work, I had an uncomfortable experience with them when they joined midway through my appointment. The nail artist asked for my input at different points, and the owner jumped in and became very frustrated and short with me when I politely gave my opinion about colors and design. I had got the impression that it was supposed to be a collaborative process, so I was taken aback when the owner rudely told me that it was a discounted manicure, and I needed to let the artist do what she wanted and "not be so picky". I was unaware that it was supposed to be a set design or that it was discounted. I would have gladly paid whatever to customize the simple design and colors to my liking. In fact, I thought it was a $70 manicure and ended up paying only $50 so I left a 50% tip--I definitely wasn't trying to grift them. I left feeling dismayed.Overall, I loved the result, but I felt the owner could have handled the situation more kindly and tactfully.“

“I own my own Salon, so trust me when I say, it’s extremely hard to find a stylist who truly listens to what you ask them to do. And not what they want to do. I met Emily, who was AMAZING! She did my haircut exactly as I asked. We had a wonderful & easy conversation. She didn’t put a lot of product in my hair, and that part I didn’t even mention to her. I really enjoyed getting to her. It was a very clean and cute salon in Gladstone. When I retire, I’d recommend Emily to anyone of my clients because she has the same style haircutting skill, (She’s just a lot younger, of course, lol).If you’re looking for a new salon, I’d highly recommend Emily.
