We've been going to My Eyes Optical for years because of a particular doctor. Despite living in Toronto, we followed this doctor to the Woodbridge location. Today, we had an appointment at 5:30 but advised we'd be 10 minutes late. Due to the traffic from Toronto to Woodbridge, we ended up being 15 minutes late. Upon arrival, the door was locked. An associate came to the door and stated that the doctor has left for the day due to the additional 5 minutes, and that they are closed for the day. If you close at 7, or even 6, the time is now 5:45. I'm not saying we expect a full appointment but we would have liked the opportunity to discuss the cancellation (because they didn't notify us), and discuss what can be done to maintain the eye issue in the meantime until a new appointment. We understand that there needs to be respect for time but that respect goes both ways because to entirely dismiss us over 5 minutes was unnecessarily disrespectful, especially going so far out of our way just for her. Communication is also key to maintaining any relationship — you could have told us that you would cancel and close before your scheduled closing time on the door and Google. We've since made 3 phone call efforts to discuss the client relationship going forward and have been told that Dr. Manipour is busy each time.
