Being a retired contractor of 25 years, the only recommendation I have is that Chad buy a good day-timer, note the things he proposes to do, or note the trades or suppliers he is to contact, so that at the end of the day he can review what he has written - jobs or communications, and actually do what he proposed to do, instead of keeping it all in his head and then forgetting to get it done.
