About Goodwill Community Store

Goodwill Community Store & Donation Centre is a tidy and well-organized store with kind and helpful volunteers. It offers reasonable prices and clean, good merchandise. The staff provides excellent service, holding items for customers and offering a wide range of products, including winter gear and high-quality clothing from brands like Banana Republic and Zara. The store can be quite busy, especially during sales like the 50% off days, which can lead to long lines. Customers appreciate the fitting rooms and washrooms available, making it a great spot for a couple of hours of treasure hunting. The books section remains noteworthy, making this store a recommended destination for thrift shoppers.

I enjoy coming here to browse for books, and I do like the selection. However, one big issue I’ve noticed over the years is that the cashiers rarely greet customers. No “hi,” “hello,” or “how are you?” I’ve had multiple interactions where they don’t speak at all throughout the entire transaction.

I’m not expecting anyone to go out of their way or be overly cheerful, but basic customer service matters. Poor customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves, and it does affect the overall experience.

I wanna say a huge thanks to the boy who wore a pair of shining earrings. Cuz I was followed by a homeless nearby and I was trying to run far away from him so I entered the store asked staff any side door I could use. He helped me quite a lot. He is such an angel. After I left …. The homeless still followed me but I successfully managed it and back home safely. I still wanna sincerely say thank you to the kind and genuine male staff. He is my super hero tonight

The store is well organized, and the staff are friendly. They also have a great selection of clothing and home goods.

That being said... the prices for clothing items has become outrageous. I'm not sure that staff know you can now find brands like Levis, Zara etc at Winners, and I'm often finding items at Goodwill that cost more than NWT items in retail stores. I would really suggest researching clothing costs and price accordingly. A pair of second-hand jeans should not be more than 10$, and no clothing item in that store (that was donated for free) should be priced more than $50.
