The worst HVAC company I ever dealt with. I brought construction from Caliber Homes, who use Downsview as their HVAC subcontractor. The AC/Furnance has been giving me troubles since day 1 of our move in. We had NO heating for two weeks during the extremely cold winter. The main duct was not even connected in the basement. The AC stopped working after the first summer. I have spend thousands of dollars even it is a new system. Their technician even admitted that the problem was due to they used incompatible thermostat, still neither Downsview nor Caliber Homes would take responsibility of the defect unit. One of the worst Hvac Company ever deal with. Bought Pre-construction house from Builder Great Gulf in Barrie who used Downsview as their HvaC contractor. Within one year furnace started to have issue of not heating. Called great gulf and they send downsview technician to have look on the furnace. They came back with excuse that since we are using smart thermostat so they cannot check of fix the furnace. It sounds really sounded stupid to me. Even govt is pushing to use smart thermostat to save on energy. So downsview backing out to fix the issue just because we installed the smart thermostat. Worst company that I ever had to deal with. It’s absolutely ridiculous that NOTHING this company installed at my brand new home was done properly. Literally had to find the installation manual online for the water heater and email this company and the builder the exact page of the manual to convince them that they did the job wrong. I don’t get why they were trying to convince me that it was “normal” for a brand new water heater to stop working so frequently. And exactly how incompetent can they be that when a quick google search can point you to the exact problem.
