Nov 2021 -- Twenty plus years ago my husband and I used a family-recommended and big-name investment firm to manage our savings and IRAs. As business owners, we were extremely busy and didn't mind paying a reasonable fee for reasonable returns. Long story short, we were too busy to properly monitor the accounts and though our investments did make some money, taxes and constant stock transfers ate up a lot of the income.
