“I contacted Mike Carroll about a large oak tree in my backyard which was next to my deck and rather close to my house. A recent thunderstorm had caused some of the tree branches to fall on my house, causing some gutter damage; I had also noticed a number of dead limbs in the upper levels of the tree. Mike and his wife Rachel came out promptly at the agreed upon time, and Mike examined the tree and told me that it was severely infected with canker. He told me that the tree was not salvageable and would need to be taken down before it came down on its own (likely on my house.) Rachel found a spot for me on the schedule, and Mike and his crew arrived early on the specified day and worked very hard to carefully and safely bring that tree down. Because of the orientation of my property, they had to enter through my neighbor's side yard; they were very careful to avoid damaging my neighbor's grass and property (my neighbor very graciously allowed them the use of the driveway as well.) The entire job took two days, and during that time they were very courteous and professional. (I should mention that I also asked Mike to take a look at my other oak tree in the front yard; he did, pronounced it healthy, and had one of his crew trim a few small branches from it.) After Mike and his crew finished the cutting and trimming, they hauled away all of the logs and debris, and meticulously cleaned everything up, including blowing off sawdust on my deck. Mike has an encyclopedic knowledge of trees and their diseases, and clearly knows what he's doing; this was not an easy tree to take down, and yet he and his crew did it safely. I highly recommend them for any type of tree work.“
