Maureen was amazing to work with. My husband and I live in Colorado, but wanted our wedding close to our family in Ohio. We held our ceremony outside on the patio, the reception inside, and then dancing upstairs after dinner. The venue was the perfect size for the 70ish people that attended. We started looking for venues in May for a fall wedding (so only about 4 months before our date, yikes!) and Orchard Lane was able to accommodate us where other venues were booked out over a year in advance. Maureen did an amazing job keeping in touch with me and making sure I knew where everything was and that everything was set up how I wanted, while also not going overboard or being pushy about anything (this is the biggest reason I really loved working with her, so many venue owners/reps are very annoying!). When her usual bartenders weren't available, she found us an alternative, gathered all relevant info we'd need to make a decision, and with my OK even met with the bartenders to sign the contract and get everything in order. This was SUCH a big help and probably the smoothest decision that was made from our entire planning process. Everything was very reasonably priced and since we had the evening before our wedding to set up, plus all morning the day of, our family and friends were really able to make the wedding we'd envisioned into a reality. We just did Orchard Lane's basic wedding venue option, and then later decided to add on China, flatware, etc because renting Orchard Lane's formal items was about the same price as it would've been if we'd bought the "nicer" disposable plates, etc. We wound up putting a lot more work into decorating (since we chose to do it ourselves), but I think this made it much more special than if we had gone with one of the more commercial venues that lays out everything for you and all you get a say in is the centerpiece you provide. The patio area and view outside are absolutely gorgeous. The entire ceremony was incredibly picturesque and perfect to get that romantic/outdoorsy vibe. When the inside isnt decorated, the first floor can definitely feel a little like a 70s blast from the past. However, once some organza is draped from the ceiling and all the tables set up and the chandeliers dimmed, the first floor makes for a very classy reception area. I was extremely happy with the final look of our 1st floor reception area, and am only upset I didnt get any good photos of the overall venue once we had decorated it. The 2nd floor also looked great once we'd decorated some of the sitting and standing tables. The 2nd floor is a really great dancing space, and having the bridal dressing room upstairs was also super convenient. The only thing I maybe hadn't thought about was that we had a live band play, and they had to carry all their equipment up the back fire escape to the 2nd floor (which was probably pretty heavy, oops). This venue really is magical with the right mood lighting and decor. Hopefully some other brides-to-be find this review useful, I know I scoured hundreds of venues before we decided to go with Orchard Lanes!
Thank you Orchard Lane for allowing us to have our family reunion at your venue! Everyone enjoyed the beautiful view, great meeting space and amazing kitchen! I also want to say thank you for pulling through last minute when our other venue fell through, you will always have our business going forward!!!!
