About Avalon Lakes Golf Course & Country Club
Avalon Country Club - The Grand Resort is a golf destination that offers three championship courses in excellent condition. Squaw Creek is a favorite among many, and the resort provides a reasonable package for golfers, including stays and rounds of golf. The resort's accommodations, such as rooms and amenities like several pools and live entertainment, receive positive feedback. Dining options, such as The Chop House, are highly recommended, although there may be a slight shortage of servers. However, the food quality is good, and the staff is commendable. The renovations at the New Castle golf course are well-received. The bar area at the main location could be improved, as it is smaller than desired, and the breakfast buffet has received mixed reviews, with some disappointment in the quality and variety of the offerings.
We had a lot rain in the area the past week so it was pretty wet and it was still an amazing experience the course is in amazing shape tee boxes fairways and the greens where amazing greens where fast and rolled really nice definitely recommend playing here and the layout is absolutely amazing absolutely loved it
Never played here.....it was an amazing course. I would like to say that the starter needed to let some people play the back then the front. It was a very busy day but overall the course is amazing and well kept!
The Grand Resort in Warren, OH, has been ranked the best resort in Ohio for 2025 by U.S. News & World Report. If you’re a connoisseur of fine golf courses built by legendary golf course architects, you’re going to love this. Avalon Lakes - a Pete Dye design - is considered The Grand Resort’s premier course (although I would argue) and is located on the resort property. Avalon at Squaw Creek (Stanley Thompson) is a mere 10 minutes away in Vienna, OH. Avalon at Buhl Park is located in Hermitage, PA, and was designed by Tom Bendelow. The legendary A.W. Tillinghast designed Avalon Fields at New Castle in New Castle, PA, and is my personal favorite.
