Van Martin did a great job on the roof. I was amazed at the workmanship. I gave it four stars out of five because on the gutter install there was a miscommunication with the person reviewing the project and the estimator. Initially, my price only included a portion of the gutter which included a wrap. Then I decided to install a new gutter around the whole house. The guy reviewing the property said it would include the wrap and gutter. I received a change order and paid the difference. Then I get a call requesting more money because the price only included the gutter and not the wrap. Meanwhile, the job is underway and majority of the gutter system is wrapped. I told the foreman that was their mistake and I should not have to pay for that. He insisted that the mistake was on my part and never included the wrap. Then why did the installers wrap most of the gutter system? In the end I told him I wasn’t going to pay anymore money. So, I have a small portion that did not get wrapped. Overall, Van Martin did a great job. I am happy with my new roof. The only thing I am not totally satisfied with is that small portion of gutter that did not get wrapped. BTW, I was also impressed with the gutter installers. They kept me informed as they worked.
Working with Van Martin Roofing was an excellent experience from start to finish. Initially we worked with Heath in terms of getting our roof inspected, obtaining shingle samples, and finalizing the contract. Heath was always responsive and worked with us so we understood the process used to install the new roof. Once we signed the contract, we worked with Jerod, and he was just as professional and responsive as Heath. We met with Jerod first via the phone and Jerod explained in great detail when the roof would be completed, how many workers would be at our home, when the shingles and dumpster would be delivered, and many additional details associated with the project. We appreciated Jerod's thoroughness as it ensured we were all on the same page. The day the roof was installed, the crew showed up early and worked efficiently and well as a team. They covered all our landscaping, and we have a lot. They also moved large flowerpots from the porch into the yard, so they were protected, too. The old roof/tar paper was removed quickly, and then the water guard and ice shield were installed. The crew then proceeded to install the shingles, and the new roof looks great! Jerod came out twice during the install to check on the team and their progress. The finishing details make this roof install the best we have ever had, and this is roof #4 for us. We wish we had known about Van Martin before! Once the roof was completed, the crew worked diligently to scour our property for debris and nails. We even witnessed them looking in the bushes and plants in the flower beds to make sure there were no roofing nails in the beds. Once the job was complete, Jerod inspected the work and had the team make some minor tweaks. Then Jerod walked us around the house, and we all inspected the roof together. Once the Van Martin team left, you would not have known they were even here other than the beautiful new roof! Hands down, every person we interacted with at Van Martin Roofing were professional, kind, hardworking, and committed to making this an excellent experience for us as homeowners. This is one of the best companies we have ever worked with in terms of having work completed at our home.
