I had surgery on September 8th at Akron General and from the beginning walking into the surgery center I was greeted nicely. After taken for surgery again, all the nurses and my thoracic surgeon Dr. Masterson were there talking to me on what would happen next. The next four days I spent in ICU again I was surprised of the wonderful nurses there taking care of me. Don't remember all their names, Kathie, Sue, Dan, and other dont remember, took their time and was there right there when I called on them. The hospital is old and needs to be re done but their staff is a five star employee.
ATTENTION!If you are going in for lab work (blood work) on Saturday, even though their website and the automated vice messaging system when you call their phone number says they close at Noon, you need to be there and checked in by 11:30am!Again, this is for blood work!Also, their giant electronic touch screens they have for checking in never work, so you need to ask a worker where to sign in, so you can waste time just dealing with that.Completely wasted a trip there today because this information is not obvious.Woman at the desk said the lab leaves at 11:45am, so she said you need to be checked in by 11:45am… that makes no sense as I arrived at 11:40am.
