Dr. Jake Gerard and his team took incredible care of our Rosie during a recent emergency, and we couldn’t be more grateful. As frequent fliers at the vet thanks to Rosie’s adventurous spirit and talent for keeping us on our toes, we’ve met a lot of veterinary professionals - but Dr. Gerard is truly exceptional.
What sets him apart is not only his medical expertise, but the genuine love and care he has for his patients. He treated Rosie like she was his own, taking the time to think about not just the immediate issue, but her future health and quality of life. His compassion, honesty, and dedication gave us tremendous peace of mind during a stressful time.
Alice and I are so grateful for the care she received when she had her emergency surgery last week. One of the things I appreciate about this team is the communication with pet parents. First, they offer to communicate in multiple ways to meet our needs. Since text is often easiest for me, the team communicates to me through text. Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills goes above and beyond to help take care of our cats, especially Loki who has been sick. Dr. Jake has been incredibly helpful, informative, and caring. He goes out of his way to check in and make sure that Loki is doing okay, and always finds time to squeeze Loki in for the care he needs.
