“John at Echo Valley did two Unilock retaining walls that flanked a concrete patio and also did the landscaping behind them. John patiently waited as I spent a long time choosing my block style and the coping, as the block colors could vary with different lots (why I chose gray) and I also didn’t like the artificial look of the copings and few had more than one finished side. I needed a two-sided step-down wall and feel I really only had one option—a gray Estate Wall block with Natural Stone black coping (unsealed and more of a dark gray). Something to note if two-sided is important for your wall, is that without cutting the blocks to fit the curve, there were a couple places where there were gaps on the reverse. Not very noticeable with the mulch, and John patched one obvious one. He spread mulch, and sent me to Frank Brothers to choose medium sized boulders to add to the landscaping, which he then delivered and placed.After doing the walls, he cleaned the patio so it looked better than it ever had, planted grass around the project and wherever I had lawn damage from his equipment. Also, my gravel drive was flattened and scraped from any ruts they made.I really like the gently curved shapes of the walls with the dark steps, and overall I am very pleased with the work.
