Hello, I am Scot Kuhns owner and jeweler at Village Jewelry & Repair. I started at Lorain counties most trusted and finest jewelry store Brandau Jewelers until their closure in 2006. I started Village Jewelry in Grafton in 2009 taking with me the integrity and quality service from Brandaus. For 15 years we have created a bond with the wonderful residents of Grafton and surrounding communities. I can assure you that the negative review left to yelp is completely false and fabricated, the qouted statement was never said. In this case the watch came to us not running properly and in very poor condition. The customer was given options verbally about the needed parts. She opted for the less expensive option and was told it wouldn't run exactly on time if we didn't replace the proper wheel. Two days later came back claiming the watch didn't work, her nor her husband knew how to unlock and wind the watch to make it run. Days after she began to call and harass the store because it didn't keep exact time. Everything was upfront and there was no surprise to us that it didn't keep time. Our watch repair man did a complete overhaul and cleaning, without the needed wheel he knew it wouldn't keep exact time. She was told this verbally in advance. The only scam was her refuting her money returned and then a lawsuit claiming $3000 for the repair to be done at a high end Rolex dealer. This was never proven true by the courts. On our initial repair ticket it even stated that the customer was told it needed a wheel by another store. I like to think the best of people, so I'm hopeful that this situation was a misunderstanding on the customers end and not a complete scam to a small family business to get the watch fixed for free.
I had to have my wedding ring with diamonds repaired. I broke a prong and had it repaired here. It looked new when I got it back and so reasonably priced. I would definitely go back. They are very courteous.
