We had a one night stay for an event hosted in their grand ballroom. The lobby and the ballroom are beautiful! We ordered room service and it was fairly quick (15-20 minutes), hot and fresh! The king room was fine. It was mostly clean and had basic hotel room amenities. The mattress didn't have a fitted sheet on it; it only had a flat sheet thrown over it with another flat sheet, blanket and duvet. The mattress didn't have a cover under the flat sheet that was on it and it had multiple stains. Rating is based on the Westin experience. Compared to other Westin hotels, it falls a little short. The blinds on our room were broken, there were paint bubbles signifying water damage in the lobby and also our room. The reception / front desk staff communicated poorly with very little welcome at check-in. Compared to other hotels it really is a great place to stay, but by Westin standards, it doesn't quite measure up.

Mid-May 2026 I needed to be at a court hearing at the Common Pleas Court in Columbus, Ohio. Best choice: the Great Southern, now part of the Westin brand. The Great Southern is a two-block walk to the twin courthouses for Common Pleas (Civil, Criminal, Domestic) so it’s a sure and short walk from the hotel to the court.
The room was simply furnished – no chair but a chaise lounge sofa; one USB port; no single-use plastics, a good blackout curtain, and a nightlight in the bathroom light switch. There’s a bar on site, and on the same block there’s Dempsey’s for pub food.
