Showed up unannounced and was given a tour of the facility by the owner. Very friendly and well organized. Waiting for his installer to call so he can measure and I can order new doors.
Update: The guy finally came to measure. We discussed door treatments and storm door options. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question that I had.
Overall fantastic experience getting a custom size pre-hung door (36 x 70) made by D&S Door for our basement walk-out. Our house is over 100 years old and the basement isn't tall enough for a standard sized door. We were quoted 3-4 week lead time but it was ready in less than 2 weeks. The door is great quality, all vinyl-clad composite construction so there is zero wood to rot out years down the road.
The only thing I forgot to do when ordering the door was to request the cutout for a deadbolt as it is not standard. I just added the additional cutout myself using a store-bought jig.
The folks at D&D are fabulous. They work to make the best product possible all while making you feel really good about spending time and money with them during the process! We will never buy doors anywhere else. D&S Door Sales knows customer service.
