Hickory Hills golf course has made it to the top tier of my personal favorites. The price is great, the starter is knowledgeable, the facility is well maintained. But most importantly… they’re good honest people. I got a phone call on Wednesday morning at my office from the club house at Hickory Hills. They asked me if I was missing something dear to my heart from my previous round at the course. I couldn’t think of anything I had left behind. Winds up I left MY ENTIRE BAG IN THE PARKING LOT. Perfect spot for summertime golfing in Orange County. A decently challenging course with fast greens, slopes and hills! We had great weather for our day making it a wonderful outing. Only one hole has a water hazard toward the end of the course, but your biggest challenge is the uneven terrain and hard dog-legs. The course has an iron only driving range, a putting practice green and on-course cart service for beverages for those who would like. A great public course.

Really beautiful, well-maintained course. Hilly, which makes it challenging, but the first few holes have wide fairways so you don't lose balls. Better get warmed up, though, because those fairways get tight and the woods are full of poison ivy. Driving range is short and irons-only, and open to anyone but really only useful for warming up before a round. Views from the course of the surrounding landscape are worth the greens fee alone.
