Best hike you can get in Syracuse! Especially if you want to exercise not only your body but your curiosity and also have a great visual experience as well! It's beautiful there. I enjoy it with my best friend and my son

Gorgeous. My son and I went to explore Oakwood last week and it is absolutely stunning. Unless you have an off road vehicle that is high off the ground, stay on the paved roads. I went down a dirt road and ended up on a torn up gravel road and I'm surprised I got my car out of there. You definitely need to Park and walk.

We love to visit cemeteries because they offer so much history and can tell you a lot about the city and the people who live/lived there. Oakwood reminds me of St Louis in New Orleans. The cemetery is divided up by faith and by family, so, again, it offers a lot to see regarding the history. Be sure to visit the grave for Diamond Bessie as well as the grave of the two outlaws marked with a simple chain between two posts. I'll not include the stories here so you will go visit and learn them there.
