It should prove it’s worth to read my experience and obvious reasons for the length of my review. I have never quite met such an honorable, kind and positive man as Jeff Nill, the President of Long Island Roof Repair. I hold onto his words that “Everything is fixable”. I felt such a sense of relief as he gave me his natural confident reassurance. He displayed his integrity, depth of knowledge and capability in the service he provided in repairing my roof. I will explain my experience and why I trust Jeff. After quite a few estimates from other companies, I was left with the quandary of deciding who really knew what the problem was and how to address it. The suggestions all varied and came with a cost of thousands. My insurance did not cover the damage. I was unprepared for that and certainly was not able to spend almost $14,000 on a new roof. I did learn that many companies will suggest the necessity of a new roof as it is much more lucrative even if it could, in fact, be repaired. Something prompted me to look further and call Long Island Roof Repair, in St.James. I read excellent reviews not only from homeowners but from commercial clients as well. Every customer raved about his work. I checked and discovered his top rating with the Better Business Bureau that had no filed complaints. He was both licensed and insured. I certainly learned, after past home repairs, that these were all critical to an informed decision and necessary factors in coming to a conclusion as to which company I would believe and contract. Jeff immediately found time to come and inspect my roof and it is worth noting that Long Island Roof Repair offers 24/7 Emergency Service. At this point I must stop and emphasize that LONG ISLAND ROOF REPAIR WAS THE ONLY COMPANY TO CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. His inspection was accurate. He climbed onto the roof and then even showed me pictures of the damage. He explained the TWO DIFFERENT PROBLEMS THAT EXISTED. HE DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A “SIMPLE “FIX”. He explained how some things I was told were not only untrue but could not be the cause. What he said was logical. It didn’t require blind faith. I was stunned and relieved. In fact, he even went to his truck and retrieved a vent cover which he applied thus IMMEDIATELY SOLVING ONE PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO TAKE ANY MONEY! He said he would return another day with his son when the weather made the roof less icy and would then have a helper. Again he scheduled the repair very quickly. I was fortunate to meet his son Daniel, who was skilled as well. His manner, and likeness, undoubtedly acquired from working with his father. I learned that this was a third generation company and that Jeff held a wealth of knowledge garnered from 38years of experience. What he believed was the problem, from that first day of only observation and perspective from the ground, and inspection of the damage within my home, was in fact true once he was physically able to get to the other side of the roof. He removed a significant amount of debris that had accumulated where he explained that the roof installation had not been done properly. He corrected the problem and sealed the breach with silicone. No tenting of my roof, no unfortunate and unavoidable nail holes causing more damage to my roof, no complete new roof installation, no crazy unmatchable and noticeable patching attempts, no unaccountable responsibility to adhere to the estimate should something else be revealed, another problem determined, a possibility that there could be more charges once work began. My experience in all of this caused me to conclude, that of all the estimates I personally received, Jeff Nill, of Long Island Roof Repair was THE ONLY ROOFER WHO CORRECTLY DETERMINED WHAT WAS CAUSING MY LEAKS AND WAS HONEST WITH ME ABOUT WHAT WAS REQUIRED TO CORRECT AND PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO MY ROOF AND MY PROPERTY IN MY HOME; again not covered by insurance.
