American Rock Salt is the biggest mine in the United States. It's the last mine built in the past 40 years. They can produce up to 18,000 tons of salt per day. They operate on a commercial level generally but do offer product in 50 pound bags to the homeowner, and small contractor. They have 28 shipping locations and are known in 7 states salt . They also ship-transport by railroad right at their main yard in Retsof, Mt. Morris. Trucking companies in multiple states in the north east haul salt out of here. In peak season there are 3 shift running around the clock.
